Heathers The Musical is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized ass...but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

Note on Teen Edition: Adapted in collaboration with iTheatrics, this dynamic show is now widely available to be performed by high schools around the world. Note that high school and youth organizations may not produce the standard verison of Heathers; they must apply for Heathers: Teen Edition.

History

Heathers The Musical premiered on September 13, 2010 at Joe’s Pub in New York City, followed by a run at the Hudson Backstage Theatre in Los Angeles in September of 2013. In March 2014, Heathers The Musical returned to New York in an Off-Broadway production at New World Stages, under the direction of Andy Fickman. The show earned the Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical and ran through August 4, 2014.
